Literature Text

To the Faith, I prayed
To the Faith, I prayed
For the weak hearted
For the weak willed

To the Faith, I prayed
To the Faith, I prayed
For the ones that endured
For the ones that fell

To the Faith, I prayed
To the Faith, I prayed
For all that suffered
For all that was lost

To the Faith, I prayed
To the Faith, I prayed
For their hope to come
For their courage to come

To the Faith, I prayed
To the Faith, I prayed
That light may come
That light may shine

To the Faith, I prayed
To the Faith, I prayed
And still I hoped
And still I prayed

I like it. I think the repetition works, in this case. It reminds me of an African-American spiritual like Simone's Sinnerman. I think it would make a good song.

I would leave this the way it is. It's simple and direct, but it works.

I would like to see more of your work. I might scroll through your gallery and see what I can find. This, though, is a good piece. Submit it to some groups and see if you can get it noticed.

I like the refrain of "to the faith, I prayed." I've never heard those words paired in quite that way. It's fresh but familiar.

Well done.
